Beautification--This position does not take up a ton of time. When we do our fundraising, if we decide that our money is going to go to something like the playground, you would meet with KISD, Ms. Rodriguez, myself and whomever we decide is going to do the work for us and come up with a plan to help use that money in the right way.

Legislative Chair-This position does not take up a ton of time. Goals: to keep the general membership aware of the legislative process, informed of pending legislative actions and to involve local unit members and other appropriate persons in the legislative process.

VIPS Assistant-This position is a bit more time consuming. Goals: Help with meet the teacher night, set up volunteers. Create volunteer awards, attend school events, attend general and executive board meetings and work with VIPS liaison and others under your program.

Bonzer Bash Chair-To help 3^rd VP of Fundraising plan and implement a fun, family/student/teacher oriented activity, including games, food, prices, family themed baskets, etc.

Fall Fundraiser Chair-The Chairman of the fall fundraiser will plan and execute the sale of products. Organize distribution, collect catalogs and funds and communicate with vendor.

iMom-Provide simple snack/meal, communicate dates and times, facilitate meeting/conversation, held every other month with all information and supplies given to you. Goal: to help moms connect with their child/ren through meaningful conversations with interesting and relevant topics.

Lunchroom Coordinator-Coordinate volunteers to help in the lunchroom daily. Can mostly be done via email. The list of volunteers will be given to you to choose from.

Marquee-Be available to update the marquee on a bi-weekly or weekly basis with new information. This information will be sent to you.

School Supplies--Takes a bit more of your time but it is only twice during the year. I currently organize school supplies, so you would begin research and either go with the same company as this year or find a new one. You would then send out order forms, collect order forms and money, put together the orders and submit them to vendor. When supplies come in before Meet the Teacher, you would distribute them to the classrooms. We can find volunteers to help with this.

Yearbook Sales-To assist with the financial part of the yearbook. Collect, tally, send receipts, be available to answer questions regarding purchases of yearbooks. Communicate with Anna regularly about the yearbook.

The Bylaws and Standing Rules Proposed Amendments were presented at the March 25, 2010 general membership meeting and will be voted on at the May 25, 2010 general membership meeting at 10:00 AM:

The following be amended under Article VII (7) Section 5 of the Bylaws:
Each member of this local PTA shall pay annual dues as determined by the organization. The amount of the dues shall include the portion of two dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25) per member payable to the Texas PTA, the portion of one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1.75) per member payable to the National PTA, and the Local PTA portion of two dollars ($2.00) per member.

The following be added under Article VIII: Officer and Their Election, Section 2(b).
The outgoing President will have the opportunity to choose to be Historian or Parliamentarian before one is appointed.

Section 3(a)
Three (3) alternate(s) shall be elected to serve in the event a member is unable to serve. You may use one of these alternates if a member resigns.

The following be amended in Section III (3) of the Standing Rules:
5.Check signors will deposit the funds promptly into the PTA bank account.

The following be amended in Section IV (a) and (e)
The budget chairman (newly elected treasurer) shall have a committee of at least 6 people, including the newly elected president, newly elected VP of Fundraising, newly elected VP of Programs and the school principal.
E. Nominating Committee
Parliamentarian sits on the committee as an advisor but has not voting rights.

The following be amended in Section VI (6) of the Standing Rules:
B. Odessa Kilpatrick Elementary PTA shall pay the expenses for members to attend the Texas PTA Summer Leadership Seminar in the following order, as funds allow:
1.President
2.Treasurer
3.Parliamentarian
4.2^nd Vice President-Membership
5.Vice President-Fundraising
6.1^st Vice President-Fundraising
7.Legislative Chairman
8.Any other elected officer
9.Any other standing committee chairman

The following be amended in Section IX (9) of the Standing Rules:
B. There shall be a sum of no less than three thousand dollars ($3,000) remaining in the budget to start the next year’s work.
