PTA Bylaws




The Bylaws and Standing Rules Proposed Amendments were presented at the March 24, 2009 general membership meeting and will be voted on at the May 28, 2009 general membership meeting at 10:30 AM:
The following be amended under Article VII (7) Section 5 of the Bylaws:
Each member of this local PTA shall pay annual dues as determined by the organization. The amount of the dues shall include the portion of two dollars and twenty-five cents ($2.25) per member payable to the Texas PTA, the portion of one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1.75) per member payable to the National PTA, and the Local PTA portion of two dollars ($2.00) per member.
The following be amended under Article X (10) Section 1 of the Bylaws:
This association shall hold a minimum of four (4) meetings a year. The regular meetings of the association may be held in the months of September, December, March and May, time and date to be established by the executive board at its first meeting of the year. Five (5) day notice shall be given if change of date is needed.
The following be amended in Section III (3) of the Standing Rules:
6.All receipts need to be submitted within one week of the end of the school year.
The following be amended in Section VI (6) of the Standing Rules:
B.Odessa Kilpatrick Elementary PTA shall pay the expenses for members to attend the Texas PTA Summer Leadership Seminar in the following order, as funds allow:
1.President
2.Treasurer
3.Parliamentarian
4.2nd Vice President-Membership
5.Vice President-Fundraising
6.1st Vice President-Fundraising
7.Legislative Chairman
8.Any other elected officer
9.Any other standing committee chairman
The following be amended in Section IX (9) of the Standing Rules:
B.There shall be a sum of no less than two thousand dollars ($2,000) remaining in the budget to start the next year’s work.
