Fundraising for 2007-2008 was a huge success! Through the efforts and support of many generous parents, staff, friends, and community the PTA raised over $65,000. This money was put back into the school to benefit curriculum support and many other programs for the entire school.
Below is a summary of how these funds were used…
$20,000 - Teacher Wish List/Classroom Items
$4,700 - Beautification/Playground/Landscaping
$2,700 - Performing Arts
$5,500 - Library Enhancement
$3,000 - EUREKA! - Hands on Science program
$3,000 - Staff Development/Continued Teacher Education
$2,500 - Music Programs/PE Equipment/Art Supplies
$3,000 - Teacher Appreciation/Hospitality
$500 - Donation to Woodcreek Junior High PTA
$3,700 - PTA Expenses
$2,700 - Class Parties
$25,000 - Carryover for OKE’s Rubber Topped Fitness Track
As you can read Curriculum Support/Classroom Items is where most of our funds were spent last year. Some of these items included books for the reach program, math and science kits, assorted classroom supplies and materials for all grades.
Our goal this coming year is to raise enough money to install a rubber topped fitness track on our playground! This track will be used during PE time as well as recess to benefit our children’s overall well-being. We know from past experience that we have a great support system in place with our parents and community. We would like to continue to provide and build on these programs and support for 2008-2009 school year. Below is the schedule for fundraising events for this year.
